Who are we? Do we need a media platform for our national consciousness today?This meeting seeks to facilitate an information and experience exchange between the authors of some of the best projects about our country – those which are helping to build, revive and sustain the best traditions from across the many centuries of Russia’s history. A team from the new media outlet on Russian civilization, ktomy.media (“ktomy” in translation, is “whoarewe”), and the creators of the “Russian Discussions” dialogue forum attempt to make sense of our past, present and future.
Questions for Discussion:
Is it possible to create media about our country and the memories of its past which will actually be in demand?
Why is it important to keep looking for an answer to the question “who are we?”
To what degree can personal initiatives and the activities of small, tight-knit groups be fruitful in this endeavour?
How should we attract our audience to the consideration of difficult questions? Is it possible and necessary to compete with television?
Alexey Naumov, President of the Transfiguration Cultural and Educational Fund and one of the founders of Russian Discussions;
Irina Razumovskaya, the main editor for ktomy.media.
