A Feast of Traditional Pomorsky Hospitality 

Since long ago, the great Russian North has been home to a freedom-loving people, strong in spirit, with sturdy moral principles. These people have preserved the traditional sagas of Russian folklore, ancient traditional patterns of daily life, the unique wooden architecture of their homeland, its music, and traditional industry – guarding all these things from being forgotten.

Programme:

  • Fellowship, storytelling, singing, tea and traditional northern treats, handicrafts.
  • A video-interview with various well-known people from the Russian North.

Questions for Discussion:

  • Have a traditional Pormorsky spirit, moral principles and traditions been preserved in the Russian North?
  • To what degree has a real community principle – as a foundational principle structuring the life of Russian people – been preserved in the North?
