FESTIVAL FORUM: Christians in Politics: A Voice Crying in the Wilderness? about the possibility and necessity of Christian participation in society’s political processes.
Programme:
- A historical and theological overview of the Gospel and New Testament foundations for Christians’ participation in city and state political life.
- A discussion on Modern Christians in Modern Politics.
Questions for discussion:
- Can Christians take part in the political process as more than just voters? What is their responsibility? What should be the measure and degree of their participation? What are the possible opportunities and risks?
- Who can we call Christian politicians in world history and Russian history? What did these people have to say to their contemporaries and those who came after them? Who are the Christian society builders of the New Testament?
Christians who don’t participate in the battle for power, just as was true 2000 years ago, have the opportunity to change the spiritual atmosphere within society just by manifesting a peaceful alternative to many of our contemporary conflict situations.
